NEWS: A new alliance for CMA CGM?
Analysts are expecting CMA CGM to team up with United Arab Shipping Company and China Shipping Container Lines in light of the 2M arrangement announced between Maersk Line and MSC.
The french Global Carrier had joined the vessel sharing agreement with Maersk and MSC on the Asia-Mediterranean routes, Asia-Northern Europe routes, and Asia-America routes. Failing this, the Company now has the need to enter into agreements with new partners. The choice could fall on the arab company and the chinese company, two liner among the largest on the market, that are not currently involved in any alliance. If this new partnership goes ahead, a total of four large alliances will divide the global market share. Next to this possible new alliance, there will be the 2M, the CKYHE and the G6.

Thanks to the agreement, the three companies involved would control the 19% of the offer on the Asia-North Europe routes and more than the 21% of the offer on the Asia-Mediterranean routes.
