In 2014 the port of Genoa has established its new annual record of traffic containers with a total of 2,172,944 TEUs, and an increase of 9.3% over the previous year.
The total traffic of goods amounted to 51.9 million tons, a volume 4.8% higher than that of 2013.
The containerized cargo volumes increased by 11.6%. Positive results were recorded by the rolling stock, which marked an increase of 2.9%, by the Motorways of the sea (+5.2%) and conventional cargo (+20.7%). Last year the traffic of the dry bulk grew by 3.4% to 852mila tons, while liquid bulk grew by 9.7%.
