In the first nine months of this year the container traffic handled by the port of Gioia Tauro is approximately 2.3 million TEUs, with a decrease of 2.6% compared to the same period of 2013.
The port of Taranto handled a total of 23.56 million tons of cargo in the first ten months of 2014, down 1.1% from 23.83 million tons in the same period of the last year. Overall, the bulk totaled (16.85 million tons) decreases 4.4%. The cargo totaled 6.7 million tons (+8.1%), of which 1.69 million tons of containerized cargo (+14.4%) with an all-embracing movement of containers amounted to 147,110 TEUs (-12.2%) and 5.02 million tonnes of other cargo (+6.2%).
