The first ship of 2M, the 18,270 TEU Munkebo Maersk, sailed from Dalian. The ship will head to Busan, Qingdao, Ningbo, Xiamen, and Tanjung Pelepas before transiting the Suez Canal and heading to Europe.
On the same route there will be the 19,224 TEU MSC Oscar, that overtook the 19,100 TEU CSCL Globe which is now about to lose its top status.
The terminals of Gioia Tauro and La Spezia in Italy will be the first to welcome the ships of 2M. The container- ship ZAMBIA makes the first stop in Gioia Tauro giving the way to the new services of the Network, followed by the SEALAND ILLINOIS. Both the ships docked the port of La Spezia and will be deployed on the route Mediterranean – United States.
