The Port Authority of Gioia Tauro has signed a twinning agreement with the Tianjin Port Group, the largest terminal operator in the port of Tianjin, to cooperate with one of the most important economic entities in the world and open a fast track connecting with one of its main markets.
This port is the largest man-made harbor in the world and the largest in the North China. Connected with 500 ports in more than 180 nations and thanks to its more than 12 million TEUs handled each year, the port of Tianjin is placed 11th in the world ranking of transhipment ports. Following the imposition of its Special Free Zone is also the springboard for economic growth in the North China.
The port of Gioia Tauro is the access key to reach the South Europe, due to its location at the center of the Mediterranean. This agreement will be strategic and will offer to the Italian port a guidance about the start of the Special Economic Zone.
