On May 17, 2021, SRM tooke part at the Sixth Plenary conference of Global Shipping Think Tank Alliance.
This edition remains in videocoference to better control and prevent the coronavirus.
The conference explored the development and prospect of the global port and shipping industry under the influence of the COVID-19.
Delegates from Shanghai International Shipping Institute (China), Korea Maritime Institute (Korea), World Maritime University (Sweden), Drewry (United Kingdom), Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics (Germany), PolyU Maritime Library and R&D Center (Hong Kong, China), Centre for Maritime Studies of National University of Singapore (Singapore) and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport (Egypt) and other members attended the meeting.
The conference was hosted by Shanghai International Shipping Institute on behalf of the GSTTA Secretariat. The incumbent chairman of GSTTA, the President of the Korea Maritime Institute, Chang Young-Tae delivered a welcome speech and Professor Yin Ming, the deputy secretary-general of SISI, delivered secretariat speech. At the meeting, the representatives of the members analyzed the impact of the COVID-19 on the global port and shipping industry from different levels and perspectives, and the future development and prospects of the global port and shipping industry under the COVID-19.
