COSCO Shipping Ports (CSP) will acquire full control of APM Terminals Zeebrugge, following an announcement on 11 September that the company will acquire the remaining 76% of the terminal from APM Terminals for a total consideration of €35 Million. The deal includes 25% of the stake in the terminal that APMT will procure from Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) before the sale to COSCO. APMT opened the Zeebrugge terminal in October 2006 and later sold a 24% share to COSCO in 2014. The transaction is expected to close by the end of November 2017. The purchase follows multiple key investments made by the Chinese state-owned terminal operator in Europe over the last few years including in Piraeus, Vado and Euromax Terminal Rotterdam.
