With the green light came from the Federal Maritime Commission of United States Maersk Line and Mediterranean Shipping Company can implement the Vessel Sharing Agreement as scheduled.
The two companies expect to start operations on the east-west routes in January 2015.

Thanks to a larger network and economically more efficient the companies can continue to offer  customers in North America, Europe and Asia containerized shipping services competitive and reliable, with a larger number of ports and services than it is today, and the overall implementation of 21 rotations compared to 18 today for a total of 291 ports scaled compared to the current 212.
