1st Annual Conference Italian Maritime Economy
On Friday 13th June 2014, SRM presented the first annual report “Italian Maritime Economy” resulting from the monitoring of a year activity of the new Permanent observatory on the Maritime Economy dealing with the issues of transport and logistics. The event takes place in Naples at the Assembly Hall in Banco di Napoli.

This report aims at providing an understanding of the ongoing phenomenas which are influencing the complex and varied world of maritime economy, also highlighting the routes which Italy could pursue in order to achieve a healthy and widespread territorial development, whilst becoming a more competitive country driven by the south as the main protagonist.This research provides a detail picture of the global and European scenario in which we operate, offering analysis and statistics on infrastructures, companies as well as providing significant indicators regarding the health of this industry in an international arena. The research also highlights the opinion leader’s sentiment focussing on the role of the south of Italy. Furthermore, the report is centered on highly topical issues such as Short Sea Shipping (SSS), Naval Gigantism and on the alliances of  various carriers.
